Why is it that so many of the people who get incredibly outraged when poor people gain money other than through their own efforts (welfare, income shifts due to tax benefits, etc.) don’t bat an eye when those same poor people lose money (lose jobs, lose their homes, etc.) other than through their own efforts?

April showers, May flowers, June ne sais quoi
